"We must support as much as possible the child's desire for activity; not wait on him, but educate him to be independent" -- Maria Montessori.
In seeking knowledge,
the first step is silence,
the second listening,
the third remembering,
the fourth practicing,
and the fifth teaching others. -- Solomon Ibn Gabriol
What is a typical day at Robbyn's Nest? Your child will be
happily involved doing the following:
The day starts with a good story and varied literacy
activities around a theme. Themes may
include numbers, letters, dinousaurs, space, and shapes.
Children's interests and ideas help develop the themes.
This may be followed with working on an art project such
as making a puppet, or decorating a jewelry box.
Music, movement, drama, and computer activities take place
throughout the day.
Time is allowed for children their choice of educational,
social, and fun hands-on activities. This includes use of
the fun centers such as building, real life, sensorial,
dress up, and academics.
